Cheddar Biscuits
Ingredients
- 330 g bread flour
- 13 g sugar
- 11 g baking powder
- 8 g garlic powder
- 3 g salt
- 115 g butter melted
- 240 ml buttermilk
- 80 g mature cheddar grated
Topping
- 45 g butter melted
- 2 g garlic powder
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine all the dry ingredients.
- Add the buttermilk and butter to the bowl, then stir together until the dry ingredients are just moist. Gently fold in the cheese.
- On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough 3-4 times until it comes together, then roll out to a 3cm thick rectangle. Cut in to rounds with a 6.5cm cookie cutter until all the dough is used.
- Put the rounds on to a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake at 230℃ oven for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Mix the topping ingredients together, then brush the tops of the biscuits as soon as they are out of the oven.
